Thank you for visiting The Stuffed Grape Leaf.
This blog is a result of my deep connection to my Armenian roots. My mother’s parents are both Armenian, and my father was "adopted" into the family. Connecting with relatives worldwide and sharing family recipes has been especially rewarding to me. I’m grateful to family and friends who have also contributed recipes.
Starting this blog combines my love for cooking with my background in marketing communications. I received my bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in Communications in 1999. I am also a graduate student in the Master of Science in Applied Nutrition at the University of New England. I am in my fourth term and on track to graduate at the end of 2024.
I take a balanced approach to eating. While I love to make delicious food that is also healthy, I believe that decadent foods in small bites or for special occasions can be satisfying to your emotional health. In my future practice as a dietitian, I look forward to counseling clients regarding their dietary needs.
This blog will document heirloom recipes through photos and videos as accurately as possible. While some of these traditional recipes are time-consuming, as a busy mom I know the importance of sharing quick meals and shortcuts. Through this blog, you’ll get a mix of both complex (but amazing!) and simple (but scrumptious!) recipes. I'm excited to share this journey with you. Welcome to my blog family! - Janelle Leatherwood
